The act of writing
The essence of this project, a gathering of bodies inhabited by art, lies in the writing of handwritten letters, with dedication and beauty. Embracing the wait for the mail, with possible failures and delays.
An opening in time; the gesture of picking up a pen, arranging the paper, having a cup of tea, lighting a candle... lingering. Realizing what the soul asks for and what words beg to be seen; a poem, a pain, a joyful memory, a hidden secret... what, after all, needs to be entrusted to the world? What cries out for the freedom to be written?
Imagining the trail these letters will leave; within those who wrote them, those who received them, the space they crossed. Lines perhaps invisible to some, so clear to others. We visualize a fabric, a web, a tapestry forming... a plot of voices, a stitching of what cannot be silenced.
Trust. Write. Let go.
Life will take care of it.
How does the Seal Licking Ritual work
1. Enter the ritual
You guarantee your participation in the cycle.
2. Receive your pair
In each round, you will receive data for the person you will be writing to.
3. Write by hand
Send your letter within 1 week.
4. Receive your letter
Another participant will write to you.
5. Enjoy the journey
7 months, 7 letters sent and 7 received.
